I haven't posted in a bit, but I have lots of things to show. First of all, I had a craft night with my Bible Study, which resulted in this button bouquet:
I found this jar in a cabinet at my parents' house and the books at an estate sale. When I was 11 my dad bought me tons of beads to make jewelery with, but I haven't made too much, so I've started using them to decorate. Oh, and that thing in the background? That's a piece of a boat, which my husband apparently has plans for... possibly a lamp or something?
Some things we've found at estate sales:
~Reader's Digest books: $1.50 for both
Empty frames: $0.25 total, I seen great things for these.
~Candle holder: $2.50
4 Canisters: $6.00
6 wine glasses: $4.00 for set
4 Jars: $1.00
Chest: $20.00
Children's books: $0.25 each
Then today, I found these pretty plates at a thrift store down the road.
I had previously found these ones in my parents' garage:
Here they are all together: I still need to get hangers for them, but I want to do a wall of plates. Anyone have any suggestions between disc hangers and wire hangers? I've been trying to decide what to use.
Sempre Novo means "always new" in Portuguese. I thought this suited me well because I am always changing, always new. When I was younger I selected it as my AIM profile because I was moving a lot so I was always the new girl at school. Now, I believe it fits my ever changing interests and life in general. I chose Portuguese, because my great grandmother is from the Azores, and I think it's a lovely language.
